Benefits of VAZ Membership

Ordinary membership shall be open to all persons holding such Veterinary qualification as shall be approved by the Veterinary Council of Zambia sufficient for registration as a veterinary surgeon in Zambia.

• Full voting rights on all Association matters.
• Eligibility to nominate and stand for election to the Executive Committee and other leadership positions.
• Access to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), scientific meetings and professional networking opportunities.
• Representation of professional interests before Government, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
• Access to professional updates, publications, ethical guidance and advocacy initiatives of the Association.

Honorary membership shall be conferred to persons considered by the executive committee to have rendered exemplary services to the profession.

• Lifetime recognition by the Association for distinguished contribution to veterinary science and the profession.
• Exemption from payment of membership subscription fees.
• Participation in Association activities, conferences and ceremonial events.
• Veterinary honorary members retain voting rights within the Association.
• Opportunity to mentor young professionals and contribute institutional memory and advisory support to VAZ.

Associate membership shall be open to any person of good professional standing and working in any branch of animal science that do not hold a professional veterinary qualification, but holds a qualification approved by the Veterinary Council of Zambia for registration as a veterinary para-professional

• Inclusion in a national professional network of veterinary and animal health practitioners.
• Access to professional development workshops, seminars and training opportunities.
• Opportunities for collaboration with veterinarians, academia and industry stakeholders.
• Access to technical information, ethical guidance and professional resources from VAZ.
• Participation in committees, scientific discussions and activities promoting animal health and welfare.

Corporate membership shall be open to all licensed veterinary surgeons, animal health facilities, and all organizations & companies directly or indirectly concerned with matters of animal welfare, health and/or production.

• Increased organizational visibility and recognition within the veterinary and animal health sector.
• Opportunities to sponsor, exhibit and participate in VAZ conferences, events and professional programmes.
• Access to a broad network of veterinary professionals and potential partners.
• Opportunities to contribute to policy dialogue, industry development and animal health initiatives.
• Enhanced credibility through association with the national professional veterinary body.

Student membership shall be open to all students registered to the clinical years of study in the veterinary school at the University of Zambia, and final year students in tertiary education institutions teaching veterinary and animal health related courses in Zambia.

• Participation in scientific meetings, student activities and CPD programmes at reduced cost.
